Life aquatic

I find that few things in life are as serene as watching aquatic life go about their daily lives in an entirely different world than our own. Aquatic photography has many challenges as opposed to other forms of photography. Usually, the conditions involve low lighting, with fast moving subjects, lit up in a world of blue (as all of the other colors of light are quickly absorbed by water). Additionally, when shooting in an aquarium, you are left fighting with distortion caused by taking photos through multiple inches of acrylic. In the end, if everything goes according to plan (or with a fair amount of savoir-faire mixed with a little bit of luck), you are left with stunning photos that allow you to appreciate these majestic creatures in their unique biome.
