Flying dinosaurs!

When you’re eating a nice turkey for thanksgiving, you are eating a dinosaur; a fact that I always love bringing up during the middle of any good dinner where poultry is on the menu. Have you ever seen a flock of California quail run away? Please tell me that doesn’t remind you of a very miniature version (thankfully) of a pack of velociraptors.

If you couldn’t tell, I find birds absolutely fascinating (a reoccurring trend when it comes to the natural world). To think that millions of years ago, our feathered friends were the rulers of our world, puts certain things into perspective. That, and they’re just fun to observe, photograph, and appreciate for their often-times unique, varied and beautiful forms. Hummingbirds are some of my favorite creatures, and I’m fortunate to have a few of them in my backyard that have grown accustomed to me snapping away at them, allowing me to showcase their mesmerizingly irradiant colors and tenacious nature.
